RITUALS
Rituals is a premium brand of beauty and self care products that wanted to better communicate their brand through eCommerce platforms. I worked with a Senior Copywriter to develop a new, branded experience on Amazon through a sample product detail page as well as a brand store.
Above the fold
The new Rituals ATF communicates the brand thoroughly, creating an experience. It shares important product information in an engaging way. Customer reviews are highlighted that show emotional benefits, like the lovely feeling of Ritual’s Hair & Body Mist. It also cross sells to other Ritual of Sakura products and encourages shoppers to become My Rituals members.
Below the Fold
A hotspot tour is an interactive module that lets consumers click around, expand different hot spots, and learn about Rituals’ greatest features.
This specific example utilizes a short boomerang .GIF, rather than a still image — this is a future-state with functionality we hope retailers will incorporate with encouragement from their partners and sellers. GIFs are already in use on some retailer platforms but not in product detail pages just yet.
Future State Above the Fold
In addition to the GIF incorporated in the BTF hotspot tour, a GIF at the top of a product detail page would serve to better demonstrate the product in use. Here a story is created by showing the product, setting, and use rather than a set of static images and a separate video.
Brand Store
The Rituals brand store already exists on Amazon and was much better off than the product detail pages. With a few adjustments to the design, an experience cohesive with the brand site was created.
